Silke Paulmann researches how emotions and attitudes are communicated through speech. Focusing on both speech production and perception, Silke's research interests encompass how emotional and attitudinal language is processed by adults and children and how emotions are processed cross-culturally. Recent research investigates how tone of voice can influence motivation and engagement in school-age students.
Silke is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Essex, UK.
